Crop Planting in Right-of-Way
Crop planting, plowing, tilling, as well as other operations within a right-of-way can lead to erosion that adversely affects the environment, poses safety concerns as crops can block motorist’ s vision, and create other safety problems. It is also unlawful, according to Minnesota Statute 160.2715.
The township reserves the right to ask for the removal of crops planted in the right-of- way, or the township may remove them at the owner’s expense.
