NOTICE OF AVAILABILITY FOR THE
ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT WORKSHEET FOR THE DAKOTA AGGREGATES SOBIECH PIT
As the Responsible Governmental Unit (RGU), Vermillion Township determined that an
Environmental Assessment Worksheet (EAW) is required for the proposed Dakota Aggregates Sobiech Pit.
Dakota Aggregates proposes to operate a sand and gravel mine at the property located southeast of the
intersection of 190th Street East and Clayton Avenue in Vermillion Township, Minnesota.
The mine will include 94 acres of mining and related activities on an approximately 145-acre site.
Information gathered by the EAW process is used to identify potential environmental effects from
the proposed project and used to inform future project decisions.
The public is invited to review and provide comment on the EAW through 4:00 PM on March 19, 2026.
The EAW is available for review at the Vermillion Town Hall by appointment,
and online at https://vermilliontownshipmn.com.
